Children
At our St. Catharines clinic, a select few of our therapists are specially trained to connect with children through evidence-based Play, Art, and Child-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). This creates a comfortable space for your child to express abstract feelings and complex emotions. We aim to empower children with positive coping skills for life transitions, behavioural issues, or mental health conditions.

Adults
We treat everyone as equals here and provide in-person, phone and virtual talk therapy for those struggling with anxiety, depression, stagnation, trauma, life stressors, life changes, addiction, confidence building, career challenges, personal development and grief or loss. We want to hear your story and work together on personal growth.

Couples
If you are a couple who are looking to improve your relationship and develop healthy patterns, we are here to help! Maybe you are struggling with communication in your relationship, infidelity, lack of connection, life changes, intimacy issues or you looking to improve your dynamic through open conversation, we are happy to be an unbiased guide to this process.

Families
A family is a system, and one person impacts the whole. We can look into the roles of the family members, communication or behaviour patterns or life stages to better understand the root of the issue. Our therapists are ready to collaborate with you on healthy boundaries, and to promote empathy and understanding throughout.

Experienced Therapists
All of our therapists are registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario or Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and have completed the necessary schooling and hours required to be certified. Many of our therapists have completed extra courses to be as knowledgeable and helpful to different therapeutic scenarios as they can be.

Empathetic & Understanding
Our therapists prioritize building the therapeutic relationship by validating client's experiences and feelings, minimizing feelings of shame or isolation. By offering a safe, non-judgemental space, client's can explore difficult truths and challenge old patterns. We are on your side.

Collaborative & Consent Based
All of the therapy offered at Connecting the Roots is collaborative, which means that you are not being 'told' what to do. You are in the drivers seat of your experience and can work together with your therapist to come up with a plan, disclose only information you are comfortable sharing, and decide which goals you feel ready to work towards.
LET'S MEET YOUR GOALS
Therapy can be a powerful tool to help you to achieve your personal and professional goals! We provide a safe and supportive environment to explore and identify what is holding you back and to develop the skills you need to move forward.
- Clarify your goals
- Identify and overcome obstacles
- Develop new skills and mindsets
- Build self-awareness
- Create accountability
- Regulate your feelings
Take the First Steps Toward Feeling Better
Our first consultation is free, confidential, and zero-pressure. It’s a space for you to talk about what you’re facing, get a feel for how we can support you, and decide if working together feels right— over the phone, virtually or in our private St. Catharines therapy office.
